Building the Community in Community Journalism

On his blog about the future of journalism, David Cohn posted a nice interview with Kevin Hessel of the Marin Independent Journal. There are some good thoughts here on developing online community around the news of a small physical community. Here's David's take on the interview:
There is a fine line between community building and community whoring. It's not an easy line to walk. Sometimes I fear I'm treading dangerously close myself. But Kevin seems to have found a comfortable space.
